IT Field Engineer

This is not a traditional desk job, this position will support various locations within one region of Wisconsin, Ohio, New York and Pennsylvania. This position will typically perform remote desktop support 2-3 days per week and field support the other 2-3 days. You must be able to and enjoy interacting with people, having every day be different, occasionally getting dirty and comfortable driving to the throughout multiple states in support of multiple STgenetics field offices any time of year.

RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES

• Provide IT support and troubleshooting for all office and field personnel within the STgenetics region
• Interact with ST employees over the phone, in person or via messaging to bring resolution to reported issues
• Install, monitor and support various end-user devices
• Install and maintain shared and personal printers
• Coordinate with vendors and service providers to maintain software licensing and hardware warranties for all end-user devices and printers
• Manage IT inventory of laptops, monitors, PCs, virtual clients, printers, desk phones, mobile phones, tablets, tools and cabling
• Maintain images for laptop deployments
• Monitor antivirus platform and remediate when needed
• Provide support for execution of special projects

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE

• Bachelor’s degree is preferred
• 2+ years end user IT support experience
• Demonstrated experience with network configuration and troubleshooting; to include routing, switches, vlans, and firewalls.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and confidently
• Excellent problem-solving skills - able to effectively troubleshoot minor issues independently
• Demonstrated ability to effectively evaluate and manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
• Self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic. Able to work independently with impeccable sense of integrity
• Team player with the resolve to provide and take constructive criticism that helps evolve the team
• Ability to lift items such as printers, desktop computers, and monitors
